GoW III: 3rd Best PS3 Exclusive, 94% Average - Games Only

Perched atop Mount Olympus, next to the crowding deities and some old sword, is Metacritic, god of Scores. He’s looking down on all the reviews that hit the next today, and he is pleased. As are, we assume, Sony and Santa Monica Studios, who pulled the magic out of the bag with the latest in the God Of War series.

If you haven’t read our spoiler free review of God Of War III, do so, and then come back and rejoice in the unanimously excellent scores that the world’s gaming press have bestowed upon the PS3’s latest exclusive smash. With an average of 94% on Metacritic, the game is currently 8th in the all-top toping scoring PS3 games.

“Without question, God of War III sets the new gold standard for action games, clearing and then raising the near-impossible bar that was set by its previous installments,” said Destructoid, with Eurogamer saying “if you want to revel in old-school pleasures decked out in the very brightest new armour, this is about as good as it gets.”

Some of the games currently above GoW III on the review aggregator are baffling (Modern Warfare 2, Street Fighter IV, I’m looking at you) but 8th place in just a few short hours has got to be good – and in terms of PS3 exclusive games, Kratos’ latest is now in third place behind LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

With plenty more reviews to add to the rating over the days leading up to the game’s release, let’s hope there’s a few 90%+ scores still to come.

GOW series is amazing, GOW: III is just another amazing game added to the series. The ending could have been better but yet amazing, I just dont like it because Cratos (or how ever you spell it) kills himself by jumping off a mountain, I rather have seen him live so they could have came out with a GOW: IV, but amazing none the less.

Sorry, I assumed, which I know what it means, makes an a$$ outa you and me, but that since you posted about it you knew already. I could have gone into detail and said everything that happens, its just the end which is a blip in the game, but sorry none the less, I should have said spoiler alert or something.
